For 70 years, ASG Superconductors has been at the forefront of superconductor technology. From the magnets that enabled the discovery of the Higgs boson to record-breaking superconducting cables for energy transmission, the company and its staff have contributed their knowledge and superconducting magnetic systems to important international research projects and innovation in the industrial and medical sectors.
With society moving increasingly towards electrification and sustainability, superconductivity, a phenomenon discovered in 1911, is becoming increasingly usable for cost-effective industrial and everyday applications thanks to innovations in materials and design, as well as advances in materials and expertise.
Our magnets, superconducting cables and magnetic systems, including our innovative MgB₂ high-temperature superconductor, are all developed, designed and manufactured in Italy and Europe, drawing on solid physical, engineering and manufacturing know-how.
With a team of 200 highly specialised employees and subsidiaries in Italy, France, the United States and the United Kingdom, ASG Superconductors continues to be a world leader in superconductor technology and aims to bring this technology closer to everyday life: from particle physics to fusion, from proton therapy for cancer treatment to cables for lossless energy transmission, to name but a few.

We have contributed to important achievements in scientific research, such as the discovery of the Higgs boson - ASG supplied the magnets for CERN's Large Hadron Collider - and to the advancement of studies in the field of nuclear fusion by collaborating with the world's most important projects, including ITER, W/-Z, JET, DTT and JT-60SA. But we have also been able to innovate in the evolution of materials, with our MgB2 superconductor already bringing cost-effective innovation to sectors such as MRI, cancer treatment and high-efficiency energy transmission.

ASG is a high-tech company with distinctive expertise in the field of magnets and superconducting materials, wires and cables, and continuous investment in research and development. The combination of knowledge, experience and continuous investment enables the company to carry out laboratory tests on models, feasibility studies for specific requirements, budget calculations and other research activities with an industrial vision. In particular, magnet design and superconducting system simulations require in-depth know-how in the following areas: cryogenics, finite element techniques, magnetic fields, superconducting stability, quench evolution and stresses on three-dimensional structures.
