IGNITOR toroidal coil prototype

The IGNITOR Tokamak needs 24 toroidal coils: the Company in 1995 has built the first one of these coils, under an ENEA contract. Each coil has 10 hard copper turns, having 20 mm thickness, to withstand high mechanical stresses. Feeding current is 320 KA and working temperature is 30 K: cooling is made with helium.
