LEP Quadrupole Magnets

The MQA quadrupole magnets, completed in 1988, had the purpose to focalise the sub-atomic particle beam revolving under vacuum, inside the beam line laid underground in a 27 km long tunnel forming the accelerator ring of the LEP (Large Electron Positron Collider) Project at CERN in Geneva. For the LEP project, in 1993 n.72 superconducting resonant cavites were produced, equipped with cryogenic components, RF couplers and assembled in 18 cryomodules.
